Discover how to automatically calculate and add sales tax on your saas·hapily quotes!
Sales tax is often necessary for selling products, but it doesn’t have to be a pain for your sales team to add to quotes. saas·hapily’s custom quote can automatically calculate and add the appropriate sales tax to products for you. Here’s how to set it up:
1. In your connected Stripe account, make sure the customer you’re preparing the quote for has an Address and a Tax Location Status. You can add one by opening the customer record and clicking the pencil on the side of the page.
2. Make sure you’re registered to collect tax in the customer’s area. You can find instructions for setting this up HERE.
3. Make sure the product you’re selling has a Product Tax Code. If it doesn’t have one already, you can add one by opening the product’s page in Stripe and clicking Edit.
4. Next, you’ll need to map your product over to HubSpot if you haven’t already. If you’re unfamiliar with this feature, no worries! Find instructions for product mapping HERE.
5. Lastly, make sure the saas·hapily Enable Tax field on the Deal in HubSpot is set to Yes before you create the quote.
6. With all that out of the way, all that’s left is to create a quote for the customer! Use the saas·hapily quote template, add the product, and publish. saas·hapily will automatically calculate and add the correct tax for each product.
